On treading where others have tread

Writing for design is daunting

Some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) you will ask yourself:

'Has this been done before?'

'Is this really obvious?',

'Is this taught in first year uni?' (I wouldn't know)

'Am I about to get ruined in the comments?' (I'll turn them off)

'What if this was chapter 2 in that Steve Krug book everyone reads?'

And the worst one:

'Am I exposing myself as an absolute novice?'

Nothing is new

To calm yourself, refer to this quote I just made up:

EDIT: I googled my made up quote and found a few someones who have said the same thing, but really well. This is my favourite.

There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible. We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations. We keep on turning and making new combinations indefinitely; but they are the same old pieces of colored glass that have been in use through all the ages.
— Mark Twain

To summarise, even though no idea is new. The context in which you bring it up (regurgitate) might be.

It's this infinite combination of old ideas in new contexts that makes creativity so exciting.

Keep on writing.
